Pre-school girls have started to watch their weight, they don't want to get all 'fat and ugly'. They know that to be fat is to be ugly, they've heard it so many times from so many different places, beautiful is thin.

School girls diet themselves into eating disorders, desperately trying to achieve the standard of beauty thrust upon them via the ultra exposed bodies of supermodels, starved and airbrushed into unattainable sophistication.

Young women spend a large proportion of their time, energy and income trying to conceal or correct the multitude of faults and weaknesses they have been taught to see in their own healthy and beautiful bodies.

The fashion, cosmetic and dieting industries thrive on women's insecurities, stealing the resources that might otherwise have been used to improve the quality of life for all living things on this sad planet.

Euro-fatdykes is a mailing list for women who love women of all shapes and sizes. The kind of women who are more likely to ask themselves 'How does it feel?' than 'How does it look?'. A network of strong, independent women exchanging inspiration and support in an insane world.

The list is Lesbian Friendly, which means that we insist that any discussion of sexual acts with males be reserved for private email. Ongoing, intimate relationships with men are not suitable topics for posts to the list. If you have a problem with that, then this is not the right
list for you.

Although most discussions take place in English, the list is European and you are welcome to post in any European language.
